Next week on Coronation Street, a shocking scuffle on the cobbles puts builder Mick Michaelis in the spotlight. When Mick is arrested for assault, it falls to DC Kit Green to lead the investigation. But what should be a simple job for the experienced officer quickly takes a strange turn — and it’s clear Kit is hiding something he doesn’t want anyone else to see.
Coronation Street: Kit’s Nerves Ring Alarm Bells
The crisis begins when Mick lashes out at Theo Silverton, shoving him hard against a van in a furious row. It is Billy Mayhew, Ronnie Bailey, and Ed Bailey who step in to drag Mick away and restore order.
Shortly afterwards, DS Lisa Swain informs Kit that Mick has been brought in on suspicion of assault and tasks him with conducting the interview. Typically, Kit would deal with a case like this in his sleep. But the instant he hears the name Mick, his calm façade begins to crack.
A Coronation Street insider said Kit is normally “hard as nails“ and not easily rattled. This time, however, the insider said it‘s obvious Kit is uneasy — and while he tries to keep that hidden from Lisa, viewers will notice his tension etched on his face.
Whether or not Kit is nervous due to Mick‘s bad rep or something more, a deeper, possibly hidden connection, is unknown at this time.
Mick Turns the Tables During Questioning
Within the interview room, Kit tries to remain professional to the best of his ability, but it‘s clear that he is nervously twitchy. Mick times the shift in him immediately and appears more entertained than threatened by what is happening.
Instead of following normal procedure, Kit makes the unexpected choice to let Mick off lightly. He asks much fewer questions than usual and manages to let him off with a free pass without fully grilling him about the assault. The insider said the decision was “very unusual,” stating that Kit‘s actions are entirely out of character.
But it doesn’t stop there. After his interview, Mick whisks Kit aside and insists on a private word. It‘s a charged moment — and it hints that whatever it is that Kit is trying to keep under wraps could be about to crash in off the rails. Is it something relevant to his flashback episode?
