The latest Coronation Street spoilers will bring yet another blow to Abi Webster’s mental health as she struggles with trauma from a recent tragedy. Amid Abi’s turmoil, the soap has introduced a chilling twist with the brief return of a major character from the dead. In the upcoming episodes, we will see Abi’s fears leading her to Seb’s memorial garden—where an unexpected twist shakes her to the core.
A Familiar Face Returns
Since witnessing Mason’s stabbing upfront earlier this week—Abi’s mental health has taken a heavy toll. It was Abi who called the ambulance and tried to save his life. But ultimately, his life couldn’t be saved and he ultimately succumbed to his injuries. However, Abi couldn’t recover from the shock yet. She has been depressed and anxious as the incident brought back his dead son Seb’s murder nightmares.
It has been just three days after Mason’s tragic death, and now he has come back in one of Abi’s haunting visions. In the Thursday episode, we saw Abi’s concerns getting intensified after her young son Alfie briefly goes missing in the play area at the precinct. Although Toyah finds and returns Alfie back to Abi—she can’t get over the fear of losing another child. Later, when she spends more time in Seb’s memorial garden, she hallucinates Mason.
Actors Share Their Experience on Dark Storyline
Earlier this week, Sally Carman, who plays Abi—revealed that Harry Visinoni, who portrayed Seb, returned to film emotional flashbacks. “Those scenes broke my heart. It’s as if he has died all over again,” Sally told Inside Soap. Additionally, she said that these beautiful moments broke her heart. Not only Sally but Luca Toolan, who played Mason, has also opened up about his tragic on-screen death and exit from the show.
Luca Toolan talked about feeling mixed emotions when he got to know about Mason’s tragic storyline. While he felt sad that Mason’s death marked the end of his time on Coronation Street, he was equally excited to contribute to such a significant plot. “It’s an incredibly important issue that needs to be tackled,” he said. Additionally, he said that he found out around February or March time, so it was a long time coming. It gave me the opportunity to do a lot of research into the storyline, which was great.
Recalling his involvement in the bullying storyline, he said it helped him understand the soap’s impact. “That’s why it’s so important for soaps to cover these kinds of topics,” he explained. “If this storyline makes even one person drop a knife, then it’s done a great job.” In the upcoming episodes, we will see more compelling drama regarding Mason’s death.
