The popular Coronation Street actor who has been a rock to Laurel has finally announced his exit from the soap—but how will he exit? Paddy Bever, who plays the role of Max Turner on the soap, has finally announced his exit, and we can’t be more emotional. He has practically been a rock to Laurel as far as we can recall—and now, with him gone, what does it mean for her?
Actor Announces Farewell
Max Turner recently announced that he would be leaving the soap in an Instagram post. He wrote, “After much reflection and a tough decision, I have chosen to step away from Max and Coronation Street to explore new opportunities. I have been surrounded by such kindness and support every step of the way,’ he said in a statement. It’s been a great privilege to contribute to the legacy of such a well-loved and iconic show. This chapter has been unforgettable, and while I look forward to what lies ahead, I will treasure these memories.”
Since he joined the soap, Max has been central to some of the most intense storylines—where we also saw Max getting into a far-right extremist gang and getting almost killed by Joel Deering. Though girlfriend Lauren Bolton eventually came to his rescue, which ultimately led to Joel’s murder at Lauren’s hands. Now, she is appearing for the trial, and things are not looking good for her. Will Lauren and Max’s chapter end with the trial—is that the reason he is exiting?
Coronation Street Spoilers Confirm Max’s Exit Plot?
The ongoing courtroom drama has also put Max and Lauren in the centre. Though Max convinced Lauren not to plead guilty, it seems like things will soon take a worse turn. Joel’s father, Gus, has paid Brie, Lauren’s inmate, to accuse her of violence so that it becomes hard for her to get justice. Gus and Anthea, Joel’s parents, long to get baby Frankie’s custody, the child Lauren had with Joel. They are doing everything to ensure Lauren ends up behind bars so that they can get full custody of their grandchild.
Though Dee-Dee comes to Lauren’s rescue and reveals Gus’s motives—will she be able to help? We don’t know yet. Whatever happens, we want Lauren and Max to end up on good terms and finally get closure. They have done a lot for each other—and their destined split-up is the last thing we want to see.
Paddy has also shared a behind-the-scenes shot from the sets with a dog named Betsy from the court scene. However, we can’t help but speculate the reason behind its presence. Is this fur baby somehow connected to Max’s exit plot? Only the upcoming spoilers can confirm. Until the next Coronation Street spoilers drops, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more soap updates.
