Max Turner’s time in Coronation Street is coming to an end after the truth behind the Platt house fire comes out. For the past week, everybody has been under a suspicious eye in terms of who could be the culprit behind the house fire. Finally, the real victim is caught, and this troubled teen has a clear connection.

Max’s Future On The Soap Revealed

Following last week’s devastating fire at the Platt family home—fingers have been pointed in all directions for the arsonist. The truth, however, has been hiding in plain sight. In Monday night’s episode, Max’s stepmom, Shona Platt, was completely shocked once she reviewed the CCTV footage from the garage. The clip showed a hooded figure who was searching for cans of petrol.

CS/ Shona figures out the truth

While initially confused, it becomes clear to Shona as she identifies the hoodie the figure is wearing. It was the same Hoodie that she had gifted to Max for Christmas. Realizing the horrifying truth, she confronted him, and Max was forced to confess. His shocking confession revealed that he set fire to his own home in a desperate bid to claim the insurance money to pay back the gangster Harvey Gaskell.

But it has only made things worse, and now Max himself is behind bars. In the scenes of Tuesday, Shona and David visit Max in the prison with some unexpected news. Concerned for his safety, they have applied for his transfer to a prison in Scotland. They believe the transfer will keep him far from Harvey’s reach.

CS/ Max was the arsonist

However, even with this plan, Max fears no distance will keep him safe. We can’t help but speculate whether this transfer will mark the end of his time on the cobbles, or is there more danger of a hit for him? Only the upcoming Coronation Street spoilers can reveal. Until then, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more soap updates.
