Viewers Are Confused After Jodie’s Sudden Arrival And Her Link To Shona
Jodie was introduced when she was found tied up in the back of a van. It happened during the Corriedale crossover episode. She had no introduction and no buildup. And so fans were trying to understand how she ended up there. Elsewhere, Graham Foster was driving the van. He is the same Graham who was believed to have died six years earlier. And all this added more confusion.
Then Jodie finally managed to escape. After which she ran through the woods before reaching the hospital. And that’s where she came face-to-face with Shona Platt. Then Shona went into labour. However, Jodie was watching her from a distance. Moreover, both women had the same tree tattoo.
In the next episode, Jodie reveals that she and Shona were in the same car crash. She also says she has nowhere else to turn. And Shona lets her stay at No.8. After this, Jodie starts bonding with Lily and Bethany. However, things with Nick don’t feel smooth. Later, Shona spots bruises on Jodie’s wrist. However, when she questions her, Jodie replies that she had escaped an abusive relationship. But is Jodie telling the truth or trying to cover up?
Olivia’s Life Away From Coronation Street And More Hints About Jodie’s Past
Outside the soap, Olivia’s life is completely different from the mysterious character she’s playing. She has also acted in Boiling Point and The Gathering. However, away from work, she is engaged to BBC actor James Nelson-Joyce. In August 2025, James had posted pictures with Olivia. And in one of the pictures, she showed her engagement ring. Once the photos were viral, fans congratulated them quickly.
Coming back to the storyline, Jodie wants to fit herself into Shona’s life. And the episodes hint that Jodie’s past could explain why she was tied in the van and why Graham was involved. According to next week’s spoilers, Shona will help Jodie. However, she is letting her into the house without knowing who she really is.
