The Coronation Street actor Alan Halsall has made his way back to the cobbles, and his colleagues couldn’t help but celebrate his return to filming. Alan has played the role of Tyrone Dobbs on the ITV soap since 1998 and was a major part of many important storylines. The actor had briefly stepped out from the soap to appear in “I’m a Celebrity… Get Me Out of Here!” Now, after swapping Bushtucker Trials for Webster’s Autocentre, the actor has returned to his roots.
Alan Shared About His Return
While the actor was coming back from Manchester, he took to Instagram to host a Q&A session on his Instagram. It was there when he answered his fans’ questions and revealed that he was coming back to his day job. Alan Halsall said, “I will be back to work on Monday. Can’t really wait!” I am quite sure that this news took you all as much by surprise as it took me.
Before leaving the soap, Alan said, “Corrie has been fantastic with it all, and I’m definitely not leaving it. You just won’t see my character for a while on-screen.” The last time we saw him on the soap, he was involved in a major storyline in which he reconnected with his estranged mother, Cassie, and also learned about her long-lost son, Alina Pop. And now that he has resumed his contract, will he pick up from that storyline only?
How Alan’s Return Was Greeted
On the first day of the shoot, Alan had scenes with Cassie Plummer and didn’t waste a moment before sharing a behind-the-scenes sneak peek on Instagram. On her Instagram story, she also wrote, “He’s back!!! Our winner @coronationstreet @alanhalsall.” She also captioned the picture, “You were brilliant, @alanhalsall.”
The actor himself also took to his Instagram to share his excitement after returning to the cobbles. He posted a photo outside of the iconic Rover’s Return to his own Instagram page. While sharing the picture, he wrote the caption, “Back to doing what I love best.” Now that he is back, we can’t help but think what major shake-up will come next.
