Coronation Street Arrives On Disney+ In A New Streaming Deal
ITV had announced back in July 2025 that it would start streaming major shows for free. It was a part of a new agreement with Disney+. Also, Disney+ subscribers will get a small taste of the ITVS section. And ITVS viewers will get a taste of Disney+.
The two companies said that the plan was to give people more choice. And they also wanted to highlight big shows from both sides. And now Corrie is officially on Disney+. However, viewers using Disney+ won’t get the latest episodes the same night. Moreover, they won’t even get the early-day release that ITV gives.

Instead, episodes are released on Fridays, one week after they are broadcasted on ITV.At Disney+, the soap is portrayed as a story of a small community living in great closeness and sharing life moments. They also point out that this is the world’s longest, running primetime drama. Besides that, it is the highest, rated show in the UK.
Social Media Reacts As Characters Turn Into “Disney Royalty”
After the new update, social media was filled with jokes and edits. One user shared a picture of Deirdre Barlow and called her “the Disney princess we deserve.” Another added photos of Lisa Swaiun and Carla Connor. Then they wrote that they were their favourite Disney princesses. Someone else added, “Lisa Swain is a Disney princess.”
Elsewhere, someone even asked if this makes Carla Connor a princess as well. Others joke that Lisa Swain is “a confirmed Disney princess”. They teased that Swarla’s return would be as dramatic as an Avengers moment. Some people also wondered if Gail Platt now counts as a Disney princess. Others were simply shocked to see Corrie on the platform at all.

One person said they opened Disney+ and couldn’t believe that Corrie was uploading episodes there, too. Another said Disney+ is now the only place with Princesses, Superheroes and Ken Barlow at the Rovers. Someone admitted the situation is “frying my brain.” For more Coronation Street spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
