Asha Alahan has finally begun to open up about just how much she’s been struggling, after weeks of carrying her pain in silence on Coronation Street. From traumatic losses during her paramedic training to a vile racist attack, everything has taken a serious toll. But just as she returns home and tries to find her footing again, something unexpected happens and it could make things even harder for her.
Struggles That Led to Breaking Point
Asha’s ordeal has been building for some time. She faced devastating moments in her training when two people she knew died, leaving her shaken and unsure how to cope. The situation worsened when she tried to help a woman named Naomi, who responded with a vicious racist attack. That hateful encounter deeply wounded Asha. Things escalated when Naomi showed up again at a careers fair. Determined to defend Asha, Bernie exposed Naomi publicly. But the move backfired badly.

Naomi responded with legal threats, demanding Asha drop her police complaint or face consequences. Feeling trapped and powerless, Asha’s mental state collapsed, leading to her heartbreaking overdose. Coming home from hospital, Asha is distant and guarded. She tells Dev she can handle things on her own, pushing him away even as he desperately tries to support her. Dev is terrified to say the wrong thing but equally afraid to stay silent, unsure of how to reach his daughter.
A Plan for Justice Goes Wrong
Despite Asha’s plea to move on, Bernie believes Naomi must be held accountable. Kit joins the discussion, revealing he has seen Naomi’s history of aggressive behaviour. Bernie and Gemma then come up with a risky plan to provoke Naomi in public and film her reaction as proof. They put the plan into action at the Bistro. Gemma deliberately sits near Naomi and begins to taunt her, while Bernie records the encounter from a distance.

But Toyah witnesses what’s happening and, alarmed by the confrontation, immediately contacts Dev. He leaves the kebab shop in Abi’s hands and rushes to stop things before they get out of control. Dev and Kit arrive just in time to break it up, but the damage is already done. Naomi is furious, Gemma is still shouting, and the video has been captured. They believe they’ve prevented the worst, but one crucial detail slips past them.
One Big Mistake in Coronation Street
The video goes online before anyone can stop it. Asha, still fragile, sees it. In the footage, Dev angrily blames Naomi for pushing his daughter to attempt to take her life. Hearing her private pain spoken so plainly, and in such a public way, horrifies her. She didn’t want her struggle turned into a public battle. The video travels far, and it’s soon seen by someone close; Aadi, Asha’s twin brother. When he watches the clip, he is devastated and shocked that he’s been kept in the dark about his sister’s suffering.

Now, Dev faces a painful reality. His anger came from love, but his actions may have caused more harm. Asha, who already feels exposed and misunderstood, is left dealing with even more turmoil just when she needed peace.
