So what does the teenager do? He burgles Kit’s flat and utterly destroys it. Kit, who is already at the breaking point with the constant Michaelis mayhem, finally says enough is enough and calls the police on Brody. But just when justice seems like it might finally catch Brody, Bernie steps in to provide him with a fabricated alibi. That’s right. She lies for him. And Kit? He is livid.
Coronation Street: A Family Lie with Destructive Consequences
Kit now faces a big choice to make, to either keep up the pretence that he was mistaken about Brody and just forget, or to accuse Bernie of perversion of the course of justice. Bernie refuses to back down. She insists that Brody is family and requires assistance, not cuffs.
And since the show itself just established that Kit could indeed be Brody’s biological father, courtesy of a high school tryst with Lou, her words resonate. Hoping to diffuse the situation, Kit informs Brody he will drop the burglary charge if he vows to keep his nose clean. But Brody, still fuming with devotion to Mick, is not yet willing to grab the lifeline.
A Teen’s Suspicion—and a Potential Game-Changer
