ASHA’S HORROR! Best Mate Collapses Right Before Her Eyes in Coronation Street

By Roy

Coronation Street finally gives Asha Alahan a glimpse of stability after months of emotional turmoil but just as she starts believing life might settle again, an unexpected situation involving someone close to her threatens to pull her straight back into crisis. And by the time the moment arrives, Asha cannot believe what she’s witnessing.

Asha’s Past Trauma Still Shapes Her Present

Fans know Asha has endured a harrowing year, beginning with a racist attack from a patient named Naomi. When Asha confronted her, Naomi reportedly denied the abuse entirely and even warned she would sue if Asha involved the police. The threatening response left the outspoken trainee paramedic distraught, anxious, and increasingly withdrawn. Feeling abandoned and unable to cope, Asha eventually reached a heartbreaking breaking point and overdosed on sleeping pills.

CS/ Asha gets support

She was rescued just in time and has since been receiving treatment in a mental health unit. Her father, Dev Alahan, has remained a constant presence, although he fears the confident daughter he once knew may never fully return. During a recent visit, Asha tentatively mentions that she might be ready to come home, offering Dev a hopeful start to the week. But she also quietly confesses that none of her friends have contacted her, leaving her unsure whether she truly belongs back in Weatherfield.

A Friendship Group Scrambles To Make Amends

Hearing this, Dev immediately storms off to confront Summer Spellman, Nina Lucas, and Amy Barlow, accusing them of abandoning their so-called best friend in her darkest moment. He even reveals that Asha is now questioning whether she wants to return home at all. His words leave the girls stunned, ashamed, and desperate to repair the situation.

CS/ Summer Spellman is unconscious

Eager to fix their mistake, Nina and Amy soon visit Asha at the care facility, bringing a handmade jigsaw puzzle featuring all of their faces, symbolising support, connection, and better days ahead. Asha appreciates the thoughtfulness but can’t help noticing Summer isn’t with them. The girls explain that Summer has university commitments, and although Asha smiles, the absence clearly hurts.

Eventually, Summer arrives, and Asha’s expression instantly shifts from guarded to glowing. But before anyone can settle into the hopeful reunion, everything changes. As Asha and the others look toward her, a visibly pale Summer reaches for the doorframe, struggling to steady herself. Within seconds, she loses her grip and collapses right in front of them. Shock paralyses the room, leaving the friends horrified and unsure how to react. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all Coronation Street news, updates, and spoilers.
