Coronation Street is right in the middle of a very serious storyline, and Megan Walsh is at the centre of it all. While viewers are watching her face anger and backlash on screen, actress Beth Nixon has now shared something surprising; she’s actually very close to the same co-stars her character is clashing with.
Beth Nixon Shares Real-life Friendships
Megan Walsh’s story has taken a dark turn in recent episodes. It was revealed that she had been secretly grooming her teenage student, Will Driscoll, which shocked everyone on the cobbles.
Since the truth came out earlier this month, Megan has quickly become one of the most disliked characters. Eva Price, who acts as a stepmum to Will, has been leading the charge against her and wants her to face justice.

At the same time, Daniel Osbourne has ended his relationship with Megan. He now believes she cannot be trusted and has also pushed for her to be prosecuted.
But away from the drama, Beth Nixon says things are very different behind the scenes. She shared that she gets along really well with the actors who play the Driscoll family and often goes to Cath Tyldesley, who plays Eva, for advice.

Beth also spoke warmly about Rob Mallard, who plays Daniel. She said he is her favourite person and that he made her feel very welcome from the start. According to her, they have a lot of fun together on set, even while working on such a serious storyline.
She admitted that it’s not always easy to deal with such heavy subject matter. Still, being able to laugh with co-stars while staying professional helps them get through it.
Beth Reveals How She Approached Megan’s Character In Coronation Street
Beth also opened up about how she has helped build Megan’s character over time. Viewers may have noticed that Megan doesn’t talk much about her personal life and that was done on purpose.
Beth explained that Megan keeps her family background private, and she likes it that way because it gives her control over the character’s story. She said she has added her own ideas to shape who Megan is.

She also shared that she had input during the early costume discussions. Beth wanted Megan to look sweet and innocent, which creates a contrast with her behaviour. The team agreed, and it became part of Megan’s overall look.
Beth praised the Coronation Street directors for allowing actors to have creative input. She said they give actors the freedom to bring their own ideas, which helps make the characters feel more real.

The drama is not over though as even more intense scenes are coming next week. Will’s grandmother, Maggie, decides to take matters into her own hands and confront Megan. However, things don’t go the way she expects.
In a shocking twist, Megan reports Maggie to the police and accuses her of assault. This move could make the situation even worse and add more tension to the storyline. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers.
