Becky Swain has turned up in Weatherfield, and now everything feels up in the air in Coronation Street. She’s finally back in her daughter’s life, but not everyone thinks her return is a good thing. The big question now is whether Becky will stick around or disappear all over again.
Becky’s Return Brings Chaos
Lisa Swain’s world shook when her late wife Becky suddenly reappeared last week. After years of grieving, Lisa could barely process the shock of seeing her alive again. It was a moment she never thought would happen, and it left her completely floored. Carla quickly pushed Lisa to come clean to Betsy about Becky’s return. Lisa gave in and called Becky over, and Becky showed up in tears, begging for the chance to see her daughter.
Carla hoped Lisa would soften, but Lisa snapped, saying she wasn’t going to let Betsy go through any more heartbreak. She said the “Becky show” was over. Even after that, Becky couldn’t keep away. She went to watch Betsy at the precinct, only to panic when Ryan put a hand on Betsy’s arm. Thinking her daughter was in trouble, Becky rushed in. Betsy’s Painful Discovery in Coronation Street
Shaken, Betsy ran home and confronted Lisa, horrified to find out that both Lisa and Carla had already known the truth. She accused them of keeping everything from her and demanded to know why they hadn’t said a word. Not long after, Becky walked in too, desperate to explain herself. Lisa lashed out, furious that Becky had thrown Betsy’s world into chaos once again.
Becky then warned them the car that almost hit Betsy might have been linked to the drugs gang still after her, saying the whole family could be in danger. Carla shut her down straight away. She told Becky that if she really cared about protecting them, she needed to leave. Lisa backed her up, and the two of them demanded that Becky go.
A Daughter’s Plea, A Mother’s Choice
Just as Becky prepared to walk away again, Betsy broke down. She told her mum how much she had missed her and begged her not to leave after just getting her back. Her words left Becky torn. She is now caught between keeping her distance or staying for her daughter.
Lisa eventually gave in, saying Becky could stick around for a little while longer. She made Betsy promise to keep quiet about her mum being alive, and Becky agreed to stay in a hotel nearby. Lisa and Carla, though, were left deeply uneasy about what her presence could mean.
