Drama on Coronation Street is set to change once more, with one of the Alahan family set to depart. As the family gets ready for new tales and homecomings, viewers might need to prepare for a tearful goodbye.
Tanisha Recalls On-Screen Twin’s Departure
During the 2025 British Soap Awards, Tanisha Gorey, who portrays Asha, spoke out about Adam Hussain’s future departure from Coronation Street. Adam, who first appeared on the soap five years ago as Aadi, Asha’s twin brother, recently confirmed that he’s exiting the show.
Tanisha explained that she had become close to Adam when they were together, talking about him as her “second brother” and stating she “loved the bones of him.” She acknowledged it would be odd not to have him around anymore, particularly as they play twins, but maintained that she thinks he’ll “fly” and do wonderful things.
Adam from Coronation Street Says It’s Not Goodbye Forever
Adam originally made the announcement last April, saying he wants to “spread his wings” after five years of playing Aadi on Corrie. He indicated that the show has taught him a great deal, and he’ll always treasure the friendships made.
He told the fans it wasn’t the end for Aadi permanently, it was more of a “see you later.” Tanisha shared that same pride, indicating she hopes he goes and does what he must do. Although Aadi is getting ready to leave, the Alahan family won’t be silent for long. Tanisha teased that Asha is the center of an upcoming issue-based plot story soon, but she didn’t give away the spoilers just yet.
She also confirmed that Dev will be back on screen shortly, which should infuse some new energy, and potentially some surprises, into the family. Tune in to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest Coronation Street news, updates, and spoilers. You won’t want to miss out on what’s coming up!
