A new feud explodes inside the Rovers in Coronation Street as Maggie Driscoll turns her attention to Lauren Bolton. Ollie’s new relationship should have brought relief after months of drama, but Maggie refuses to allow it. She has already begun interfering and her actions prove she intends to force Lauren out before the romance can properly begin.

Maggie Decides Lauren Has To Go

Everyone in Weatherfield understands Maggie Driscoll’s history. She killed her own husband and later framed a homeless man after grandson Will attacked Daniel Osbourne, using the fallout to push her way back into son Ben’s life.

She even staged a cruel Christmas Day stunt in an attempt to drive Eva Price away. That plan failed, yet Maggie continued making Eva’s life difficult whenever possible. Now she has identified another woman she refuses to accept.

CS/ Maggie is meddling again

Ollie Driscoll recently grew close to Lauren Bolton after his split from Dee-Dee Bailey. A handful of dates quickly turned promising, offering Lauren, who arrived as the daughter of a far-right extremist leader and later became involved with Joel Deering. Maggie instantly rejected the relationship and decided Lauren must be removed.

Lauren Faces The Driscoll Matriarch

Lauren’s job behind the bar gives Maggie the perfect opportunity to interfere. She openly admits to Ben and Eva that she is actively working to split the couple. Her first tactic is deliberate sabotage. Maggie changes the rota so Lauren and Ollie cannot meet for their planned dates.

She then confronts Ollie and tells him he could do “much, much better,” insisting Lauren is not suitable for him in any way. She expects him to rethink the romance immediately.

Lauren has done nothing to provoke her, Maggie simply refuses to accept her place in the family. This behaviour mirrors her treatment of Eva. Anyone Maggie believes threatens her control quickly becomes a target she tries to remove. Ollie now faces a difficult decision between loyalty to his grandmother and his feelings for Lauren. Maggie continues applying pressure and shows no sign of backing down.

Lauren has survived dangerous people before, yet Maggie represents a different challenge: persistent and personal. Sabotage has already begun, and Weatherfield may soon see just how far Maggie will go to push Lauren out of the Driscolls’ lives. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers.
