Megan first arrived late last year as Will Driscoll’s sports coach, quickly earning the trust of his family. Around them she appeared supportive, warm and committed to helping students succeed.
Behind closed doors, however, she formed a secret relationship with Will; one she hides while also carrying his baby. Will still sees it as an exciting secret with an older woman and has no idea he is being abused.
That imbalance has allowed Megan to maintain control, especially because she enjoys the power of keeping the relationship hidden from everyone around him. But things shifted when Sam Blakeman started questioning her behaviour.
The moment Megan realised Sam suspected something, she confronted him directly and tried to convince him nobody would believe him even if he spoke up. It marked the first real crack in her carefully controlled world.
Beth Nixon Explains Why Megan Believes She’s Right
Actress Beth Nixon said she plays Megan as completely sincere in her own mind. She explained that whenever Megan interacts with Daniel, she approaches it with total honesty because, to Megan, nothing she is doing feels wrong.
She admitted the storyline takes her to a dark place, especially acting opposite someone so young, but she focuses on Megan’s perspective to make it believable. Nixon noted that Megan convinces herself her behaviour is justified, even if viewers find it disturbing.
The actress also revealed that Megan’s personality is her biggest weakness. According to Nixon, Megan thinks she is smarter than everyone else and believes she can manipulate any situation. “Her cleverness is her downfall, but so is her self-righteousness,” she said, adding that Megan acts like she’s God’s gift and assumes she can get away with anything.
