Carla Connor is all set to take her relationship with Lisa Swain to the next level in Coronation Street. Everything has been moving fast for the pair, and now, with life at Number 6 falling into place, Carla’s ready for something big. Carla and Lisa haven’t even hit their one-year mark yet, but you’d never know it. They’ve just bought a house together, settled into Number 6, and are living like they’ve been together forever. They’ve even been trying out new things, like a life drawing class. But before the charcoal had time to hit the paper, drama arrived.
Lisa’s daughter Betsy managed to cause chaos at the factory after printing the wrong logo on a load of vest tops. Lisa had to rush off to sort the mess, leaving Carla’s mind to wander back to what she’s really been thinking about, popping the big question. Later on, she spilled the beans to her nephew Ryan, telling him she’s going to propose. Carla even let slip that she’s got an engagement ring on the way in the post. It was all lining up perfectly, until it wasn’t.
Coronation Street: The Moment That Slipped Away
A little later, Lisa caught Carla and Ryan whispering and, of course, wanted to know what was going on. Carla managed to fob her off, thinking she’d dodged a bullet. Then Lisa brought up a jewellery website, and Carla’s heart must have skipped, could Lisa be about to propose first?
But no. Lisa had something completely different in mind. She told Carla she’s planning to have a special ring made for Betsy’s 18th birthday, complete with Becky’s fingerprints in the design. Carla just smiled and said it was a great idea but inside, she must’ve felt her perfect proposal moment slipping through her fingers.

One person said the Chariot Square Hotel would be perfect, since it’s got history for the couple, and joked that Carla’s friendly rivalry with Debbie could score them a discount.
Another’s already imagining the soap-style drama, Michelle Connor turning up late thanks to a flight delay, Lisa and Ryan trying to stall, and Carla starting to wonder if Lisa’s having second thoughts. And then there are those who just want the love story to play out without any hiccups, no disasters, no compromises; just a celebration of the two of them.
