The doctor also explained that the tumour could be cancerous. Shona tried to hold on to something positive and focused on the part where they confirmed the baby was a girl. But David looked completely thrown by what the consultant was saying.

With all of that hanging over them, Shona really wanted to bring some happiness back into the house. So she organised a surprise baby shower; guests, decorations, the whole thing. She wanted it to feel like a moment of hope. But when David walked in and saw everyone there, he froze.
