Debbie Webster’s Sentencing Takes A Painful Turn In Coronation Street
Debbie heads into court for a hearing. The businesswoman was hoping that the judge might show some understanding. She has already stepped forward and admitted what happened. But actually, it was Carl who was the drunk driver in the accident. Yet, she decided to blame herself to shield him.
On the other hand, Ronnie is standing right next to her. Kevin and Abi are even sitting there, trying to comfort her. Ryan also turns up to show support. On the other hand, Carl doesn’t come, and that disappoints Debbie more than she thought it would.
The judge first commends her clean record. He also acknowledges the fact that she admitted her guilt instead of running away from it. Then he brings up her vascular dementia, and it seemed like they were going to give her some relief.
However, that hope breaks. The judge says the crash is too serious for anything other than immediate prison time. He announces four years of prison. But then drops it to two years and eight months after her plea. And before Debbie could look at her family properly, she was taken away. Also, next week, Lou Michaelis will be back in her orbit inside those walls.
What Lies Ahead For Debbie Inside And Outside Prison
Debbi doesn’t only have to serve months in prison. She is also dealing with early-onset dementia. And this will create a different layer of pressure. Kate Brooks also hints that Debbie will depend on the people who know her best. Glenda, Christina, Bernie and Sally are there to support her when everything falls apart.
These people know she was in this situation today, as she felt there was no other way out. Next week, she will meet Lou Michaleis again. But we are unaware oif the show will keep her in prison for the entire length. For more Coronation Street spoilers and updates, keep following Soap Opera Daily.
