The fear that any time in prison could make Debbie’s condition worse. However, Carl said he needed to fix his mess. And this left Ronnie confused.
Later, Ronnie goes home and questions Debbie about the accident. He asks her if Carl was actually driving that night. However, Debbie denied it. But she soon realised what Carl was planning. Later, she saw Carl getting into his car. He was about to go to the police and confess.
Debbie stooped him and said the truth didn’t need to come out through him. She was already aware of what happened. Debbie still wanted to take the blame to keep Carl out of this. When Carl demanded the real reason for this sacrifice, Debbie finally revealed the truth. Carl is actually Debbie’s son.
The Reveal Turns To Disaster In Coronation Street
Back at home, Debbie took out the old hospital band. She walked Carl through the whole story. Debbie got pregnant at 17. But she refused an abortion. In the end, Debbie’s parents, Bill and Elaine, agreed to raise Carl as their own. Later, Debbie felt that Carl looked happy and settled. And so the truth grew harder to share.
Carl said that it never felt that way from his side. He said Elaine always felt distant. And he used to think it was because something was wrong with him. And after Debbie’s confusion, Carl turned furious. He lashed out at her, calling Debbie a lying, selfish person. He further said, “Anger doesn’t come close” to what he was feeling.
Later, Debbie tried to explain that she wanted to fix things, so she was taking the prison sentence. However, Carl dismissed it instantly. He said Debbie only cared about protecting herself. Carl ended the moment with a final blow.
