On Coronation Street, Dee-Dee Bailey starts questioning her baby’s decision as she tries to make the best arrangements for its future. She had intended to give her baby up for adoption, but developments change her mind about whether she is doing the right thing.
James and Danny Propose to Adopt Dee-Dee‘s Baby
Dee-Dee is pregnant with Joel Deering’s child. She had initially requested a termination but reconsidered when she heard that Lauren Bolton‘s son, Frankie—who also has the same father, Joel—had to undergo a bone marrow transplant. Frankie suffers from aplastic anemia, and doctors initially suspected Dee-Dee‘s unborn baby could be a donor.
After assisting Lauren and Frankie, she was planning to put the baby up for adoption, but fortunately, there was a donor elsewhere. As the transplant is no longer in her baby‘s future, she is now going ahead with adoption. On Coronation Street’s March 18 episode, Dee-Dee‘s brother James proposed that he and his boyfriend Danny adopt the baby. Dee-Dee quickly turned down the proposal, saying that she didn’t need a constant reminder of Joel in her life.
Coronation Street: Dee-Dee Begins Having Doubts
The following week, Dee-Dee tells Sarah she’s having trouble sleeping because she can’t stop worrying about choosing the right thing. She isn’t comfortable with the adoptive parents she has selected, and Sarah recommends that James and Danny be the ones. Later, Dee-Dee is forced to see James for lunch. As they talk, she suddenly feels severe pain. James comes to her aid as she experiences another contraction.
At the hospital, a midwife informs Dee-Dee that she had false labor pains and the baby isn‘t ready yet. In the meantime, James discloses to her how he and Danny came close to adopting a young boy before the plan was called off. He explains how they were devastated when it didn‘t work out. Listening to him makes Dee-Dee think. Will she change her mind? Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more such Coronation Street updates!
