Lou Michaelis may be grieving her partner Mick, but that has not prevented her from causing trouble on Coronation Street. Just when the community is getting over Craig’s heartbreaking death, a suspicious scene at the Platt home ends with sirens, and Maria in hot water.
A Grieving Widow or a Master Manipulator?
Since the time Mick murdered Craig in a fit of rage, Lou has been totally isolated from society. Mick’s assault, provoked by the startling revelation that Kit Green happens to be the father of Brody’s, killed Craig and drowned Lou.
While everyone else in Weatherfield kept their distance, Gary Windass flashed a fleeting moment of sympathy. Lou took that opportunity and asked him to assist in selling Mick’s van. Gary, however, agreed.
Later that day, Lou arrived at the salon with news that David had requested that she fill in for his shift. She didn’t waste a moment needling Maria, and soon Maria left to go to Craig’s memorial service—leaving Lou in charge.
Encouraged by Gary’s reassurance that Craig was much missed, Lou decided at short notice to go to the service as well, in an attempt to show she cared.
Coronation Street: Lou Happens to Hear Something…
Later that same week, as Maria and Shona discussed attending a family BBQ, Lou happened to hear that Shona had forgotten her phone. Taking her chance, she went to the Platt residence under the guise of returning it.
Once inside, Lou spotted something that clearly tempted her, an envelope full of salon cash sitting in Shona’s bag. Left alone, she hovered over it, visibly torn about what to do. Just then, Maria walked in. Suspicious from the get-go, Maria demanded Lou empty her pockets.
But before anything more could be said, a loud crash came from the living room.The second instant? Lou was on the floor next to a broken coffee table.
At the end of the week, police turn up to arrest Maria on suspicion of actual bodily harm (ABH). It’s a turn nobody anticipated, and now Maria is in serious legal jeopardy. What caused the fall?
