Smith commemorated the moment by sharing a striking photo on Instagram, where he sat in the upstairs window of the Rovers Return with his legs hanging over the pub’s iconic sign. In the caption, he expressed his love for the show, writing: “CORONATION STREET I LOVE YOU, THANK YOU.”

The post soon attracted an outpouring of love from co-stars and mates. Cherylee Houston, who portrays Izzy Armstrong, told him he would be missed. Andy Whyment, who plays Kirk Sutherland, complimented the post, while Lucy Fallon, who plays Bethany Platt, replied with a broken heart emoji. David, Smith’s Celebrity Big Brother 2024 housemate, also said the cobbles wouldn’t “slay the same” without him.
