The Coronation Street audience is about to receive a never-before-seen feature from their show. The Corriedale gang has prepared a unique poll that allows the audience to pick the characters who will go face-to-face in the last episode. This is a very infrequent arrangement. It is also an anxious moment for the creators as they will remain in the dark about the result till the very end.
Fans Will Pick The On-Screen Pairing
Last year, fans were asked to send their dream pairings from the show and also from Emmerdale. And four duos had made it to the final list. Moreover, all four scenes have been written and have already been filmed. However, only one will air out of them. The team will let the audience make the final call.
Iain MacLeod, who runs the show, spoke about this plan during a press screening. He said the vote will open in January. Furthermore, he said that anyone can join as it’s free. He even joked about standing in the transmission suite on the night and then shouting which clip to play. Moreover, the vote will close fifteen minutes before the episode is live. And so the team should move fast.
MacLeod also explained that he has kept a space in the episode. And there the winning scene will be slotted. However, he refused to reveal where that point is. Moreover, the episode is built in such a way that whichever duo wins the scene won’t break the flow.
Elsewhere, the three scenes that won’t win will not get wasted. He said that they will release them later. And at some point, fans will get to watch every scene. However, only the winning team will be featured in the official episode.

He also listed the four duos. Roy and Nicola, who are known for their calm and practical nature. Next is Kirk and Sam. Even the cast had described this pairing in a joking way. Carla and Charity are a duo that will elicit loud reactions if they win. And next is Ross and Tracy. It will be a fiery match with a mix of playful flirting and dislike.
The team has clarified that the audience will decide everything. The show will be airing the winning scene. And the rest will be released later. MacLeod said that every scene turned out strong.
