Things get seriously tense in Coronation Street next week as Gary and Maria reach breaking point—thanks to Kit Green’s questionable decisions and Mick Michaelis pushing every boundary he can.
Liam’s Exam Debacle Causes Huge Repercussions
Gary and Maria are already tense before they find out that Mick has locked Liam in the tool shed at the builders’ yard. It was not a child’s prank; Liam missed one of his GCSE exams. Of course, the couple is furious. Instead of attacking, Gary opts for a more subdued, but still very Gary solution.
He locks Mick in the shed as revenge and dismisses him immediately. But soon after, things get out of hand. Mick discovers Gary, punches him, and the situation almost gets completely out of control.
Gary picks up a bottle, preparing to defend himself, but Kit intervenes before things escalate. Instead of holding Mick accountable, Kit tells Gary he prevented him from doing something he’d regret. Gary is stunned. “You’re just gonna let him walk away?” he asks, unable to believe what he’s hearing.
Coronation Street: Gary and Maria Smell Something Fishy
Back at home, Gary and Maria are shocked at Kit’s behavior. Maria encourages Gary to report him, but before they can move, Kit appears once again—this time with information that Mick has made a complaint against Gary for false imprisonment. It’s Gary who is now being summoned for questioning.
At the station, Kit warns Gary that he didn’t see him strike Mick and advises him to step off or be arrested. When Gary briefs Maria, he does not hold back—explaining that Kit is “so bent he’d give a gymnast a run for his money.” The two of them decide to speak to Craig Tinker and learn how they can push things in the right manner.
Kit’s Connection to Mick Begins to Crack
Later, Kit and Mick engage in a tense exchange at the Bistro. Kit tells him they’re even after all that’s happened, but Mick doesn’t see it that way. “Even is something we are far, far away from,” he warns.
Sure enough, Mick goes directly to the builder’s yard and totally destroys it—then warns Gary not to bother reporting it, because no one’s going to be able to stop him. During all that, Kit’s mum Bernie arrives at his flat and discovers something revealing: a torn strip of torn-up old photos of two teenage lads, obviously Kit and Mick.
That minute builds up to the huge flashback episode on Friday 16 May, which will explore absolutely everything between them. And as Mick’s departure looms, it seems there’s still a lot of drama in store. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest Coronation Street drama, exits, and twists.
