Another Coronation Street Star Announces Departure!
Yet again, another Coronation Street icon has bid goodbye to the ITV soap. Amid a shocking wave of cast exits, Seamus McGoff, who is best known to portray Matty on the show, has announced his departure in a post on social media. The actor took to Instagram and shared some pictures from Monday’s episode where Matty and Logan led to a hostage situation in prison.
Regular viewers witnessed the brothers being imprisoned after killing their other brother, Mason, a few days ago. The popular teen actor posted a picture with fellow co-stars, Marc Bayliss and Jack Carroll while captioning it, ‘Out with a bang!’ Several of the actors’ co-stars and fans rushed to the comments section and expressed their disappointment over him leaving. Mason actor Luca Toolan commented a series of praising hands emojis.
One of the fans wrote, “Don’t tell me you’re leaving,” while another said, “Fantastic episode you made us proud, love you.” It’s safe to say that McGoff became a fan-favorite character even in such a short period of time. Viewers know that the teen first appeared in two episodes of Corrie in 2023. He returned in November to create more issues for her brother Mason.
