Coronation Street Icon Is Coming BACK!
Brace yourselves, Coronation Street fans! Soap boss Ian MacLeod has confirmed that Gail Platt might return sooner than we’d expected. Long-time viewers know that the actress Helen Worth portrayed the iconic role for 50 years and recently shot her final scenes. We all recently witnessed Gail leaving the cobbles on Christmas Day as she moved to France with her husband, Jesse Chadwick.
This major moment marked the exit of Helen, too, but it looks like the fan-favorite character is already planning her return. While speaking to Daily Star about this- showrunner, MacLeod said, “Helen and I have had a conversation where she’s said, ‘There might be times in my future when I’ll come back.’” She also added that Gail will return when a big storyline is going on for the Platt family and a small role in it.
He also teased that this iconic return will be a real treat for the viewers. “She could play a role in some big moments,” the soap boss added. It was an emotional moment when Helen bid farewell to us after 50 years of extraordinary performance on screen. She also shared a farewell video message addressing her fans, “It’s been a fabulous 50 years, and I just wanted to thank all of you, some of you who may have been watching for 50 years.”

The popular actress also mentioned that she loved working on the iconic storylines and with the wonderful Platts. “And there’ll be more Platt stories, and I hope you’ll be watching.
