One of the former Coronation Street stars has revealed that she has been asked to return to the cobbles. She was seen in the ITV soap for over seven years until she stepped out in 2018. But is she really coming back now? If so, in which storyline? Will she be coming back as a negative character? Let’s answer all your questions!
Actress Reveals About Her Return
Catherine Tyldesley, who played the role of Eva Price on the ITV soap, revealed that she has been asked multiple times to return. The actress, now 41, was seen in the cobbles for seven years straight as the half-sister of Leanne Battersby. She was first introduced in the show alongside the entry of Leanne’s mum, Stella.
Eva was a fairly positive character when she gave her baby to Toyah Battersby, as she was struggling with fertility issues. But just weeks after, when the baby’s father took his own life, Eva took her baby and fled to France. That was how Catherine’s exited the show. Since then, we haven’t seen her back at the cobbles. However, outside the cobbles, she appeared in Midsomer Murders, Strictly Come Dancing and BBC comedy Scarborough.
Regarding her return to the Cobbles, the actress said that though she had wanted to return earlier, it never worked out because one project or the other kept coming in. But she added, “But if they approached me with an amazing storyline and the time was right, of course, I’d go back. So it’s always a case of never say never.” Currently, Catherine will be appearing in the second series of Channel 5 drama The Good Ship Murder.
If she plans to return anytime in the future, we will be more than happy to see her back in Coronation Street. Till then, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily to get updates on the comings and goings of the soap world. Would you like to see her again on the soap too? Tell us in the comments.
