Calum Lill, known for his role as Joel Deering on Coronation Street, has ignited speculation about his departure from the beloved ITV soap. The buzz began after Lill secured a significant role in the pantomime production of Jack & the Beanstalk at the Bournemouth Pavilion. Traditionally, ITV restricts actors from participating in pantomimes while under contract. Does that imply that his tenure at Corrie is coming to an end? Let us find out!
Corrie Actor Ignites Exit Rumours
Calum Lill (Joel Deering) might be leaving the show soon. He just got a new role in Jack & the Beanstalk at the Bournemouth Pavilion. ITV usually doesn’t let soap actors do pantomimes while contracted, but Lill’s role on the soap would always be short since he plays a villain.
Although Lill’s time on the soap might be ending, he expressed excitement about joining the Jack & the Beanstalk production. He shared that he was looking forward to playing the villainous Fleshcreep on stage in Bournemouth during Christmas.
Meanwhile, Martin Dodd, UK Productions Producer and Managing Director expressed, “We couldn’t be happier to welcome Corrie bad boy Calum to the Bournemouth Pavilion pantomime family this year.” Also, he promised an entertaining show that would be a ‘giant of a pantomime’ and leave the audience ‘full of beans.’
