Jodie Ramsay has only just arrived on Coronation Street, but she is already making one risky choice after another. This time, the danger has a name, and it is Carl Webster. While most people in Weatherfield know exactly what kind of man Carl is, Jodie seems ready to play with fire, and it could cost her far more than she expects.
Jodie Ramsay Gets Too Close To Carl Webster
Jodie has never been the type to move carefully, and she proves it again when she ends up crossing paths with Carl at Roy’s Rolls. The two don’t just exchange polite words either. They fall into a flirty back-and-forth that instantly feels like trouble brewing. Carl might look charming in the moment, but his history tells a completely different story. He slept with his brother Kevin’s wife, and he wrecked lives without showing much guilt.

Carl also caused the hit and run that left Tyrone in a wheelchair, and that alone should have been enough to keep people away from him. But Carl’s worst moment came during the Corriedale disaster, when he drunkenly caused the car crash that killed Billy.
Instead of owning up, he pushed the blame onto Debbie, even though she suffers from dementia. That betrayal turned even more disturbing after the revelation that Debbie is actually Carl’s mother.
Abi Webster Spots The Danger And Tries To Stop It
Abi sees Jodie and Carl flirting, and she doesn’t ignore it. She knows Carl better than most people on the Street, and she knows exactly how he pulls people in before ruining them. Abi had an affair with him for months while she was married to Kevin, and she even left her husband because she believed Carl wanted a future with her. Carl proved her wrong in the worst way when he slept with James behind her back.

Abi learned the hard way that Carl doesn’t stay loyal to anyone, and he will always choose himself first. That is why she takes action immediately instead of waiting for things to get worse. Abi turns up at No.8 and warns Jodie that Carl is bad news and she needs to stay away from him. Shona also backs Abi up and gives Jodie the full truth about Carl’s sleazy track record, hoping her sister finally listens before she gets pulled into something dangerous.
Even after the warning, Carl doesn’t back off. He walks into the café again and turns the charm on like he always does, acting like he is harmless and easy to trust. Jodie, however, doesn’t seem ready to shut him down, and that is what makes this situation so worrying. Jodie is not clueless, but she is clearly tempted, and Carl knows exactly how to use that. Now the big question is whether Jodie will take Abi and Shona seriously. Or whether she will ignore them and keep letting Carl get closer.
