Changes are nothing new for young Harry Platt in Coronation Street. From the moment he was born after Sarah’s fling with Callum Logan, his life has had its share of twists, both on and off screen. Now, just months after viewers got used to his latest on-screen face, there’s another shake-up coming for the youngster that fans will soon notice.

Coronation Street: Harry’s On-Screen Journey So Far

Harry Platt has had quite a history for such a young character. Born after Sarah’s short-lived fling with bad boy Callum Logan, who didn’t stick around for long after his son’s arrival, Harry’s early years have been hard.

CS/ Harry have been recast quite sometimes

The most recent actor to play him, Carter J Murphy, only joined the show in December. Before Carter, the part belonged to twins Freddie and Isaac Rhodes, who played Harry from 2017 until late last year. Using twins for younger roles is common in soaps, and recasts often happen as child characters grow. Harry’s situation now mirrors the history of young Peter Barlow in the 1970s, who also went through several on-screen changes in a short space of time.

A Fresh Face Joins the Cobbles

The role of Harry will now be taken over by an actor named Josh, making him the fourth person to play the character in just eight years. According to The Sun, viewers can expect to see his first scenes in the coming weeks.

CS/ Josh will now play Harry

Carter’s exit has nothing to do with the storyline, he’s moving on after landing a part in Matilda the Musical. While it’s a loss for Corrie fans, it’s an exciting new opportunity for the young actor.

Harry isn’t the only one with changes ahead. Earlier this year, Adam Hussain, who plays Aadi Alahan, confirmed he would be leaving Coronation Street. With Aadi’s recent mistakes in both his personal and professional life, his final episodes are now just around the corner.
