Carla has been going through a rough patch after her relationship with Lisa Swain ended. Things fell apart after Becky returned earlier this year; a huge shock, given she had previously been believed dead. Becky’s reappearance caused chaos in Carla’s love life and left her heartbroken. Rather than staying in Weatherfield for the festive season, Carla decided to take a last-minute solo trip to Lanzarote, hoping some time away would help her move on.
At first, it seemed like a reasonable choice for someone needing space after everything she had been through. But when Carla stops responding to messages, Kit starts paying attention. As a reliable and committed business owner, Carla isn’t someone who usually goes off the radar, and that change in behaviour immediately raises concerns for him.
Kit Starts Connecting The Dots
In scenes airing on Monday, Sarah approaches Kit and admits she’s struggling to contact Carla. She explains that Carla’s silence feels out of character, and Kit agrees that something doesn’t add up. Motivated to find answers, Kit begins looking through Carla’s journals, hoping they might reveal something about her frame of mind before she left.
Instead of easing his worries, the entries only make him more convinced that Carla’s disappearance isn’t as simple as it seems. Kit then reaches out to Asha for help and asks her to look into whether Costello might have any useful information. Asha later reports back that Costello has been repeating the same three words during his recovery. Kit realises the phrase could refer to a place and immediately starts investigating further.
With this new lead, Kit begins to suspect that he may be getting closer to finding out where Carla is, and whether she could be in danger. The situation also brings Becky back into focus, raising the possibility that Carla’s disappearance may be linked to her actions.
