The dust may have finally settled following Liam’s harrowing experience at the builder’s yard. But next week on Coronation Street, the teenager finds himself struggling with a different type of embarrassment. While Gary and Ed believe they’re doing a good deed, Liam finds himself blushing, eager to cast off the shadow cast by Mick.
A Joke Gone Too Far
The mayhem began when Mick Michaelis decided to “have a laugh” at Liam’s cost, spilling cement over him in the middle of the workday. While Liam initially dismissed it with a cheeky shot of his own, spiking Mick’s tea with washing powder, it wasn’t long before tensions ratcheted up.
Rather than letting it pass, Mick fought back in the worst possible manner. When Liam went into the shed, Mick locked him in.
The frightened teenager was trapped for hours and missed a crucial exam. When Gary Windass discovered what transpired, he lost his cool and didn’t hesitate to fire Mick on the spot.
The experience shook the entire family up, particularly Maria, who was appalled to hear what had happened to Liam. But Liam, attempting to put the experience behind him, went back to work, hoping to just forget the entire ordeal.
Liam’s Humiliation Grows in Coronation Street
In later episodes, Liam returns to the builder’s yard to continue his work experience. All appears well—until Ed Bailey cracks a joke. That is when Gary gives him a stern stare, obviously attempting to keep matters serious in front of Liam.
The moment does not go unnoticed. Liam times the exchange and soon realizes the worst, Gary must have informed Ed what occurred in the shed. Embarrassed, Liam is angry. He does not want to be treated like one of the lads, but like some delicate casualty. He has already had to endure being picked on by Mason, and now by Mick. The last thing he needs is to be coddled.
Will Liam be able to regain his confidence, or will the good-natured protectiveness of those around him prove to be more of a hindrance than a help? Tune into Soap Opera Daily for all the latest Coronation Street spoilers, news, and drama direct from the cobbles.
