CS/Lisa wants to protect Betsy.

Lisa Swain’s Christmas Is Clouded As Carla Connor Remains On Her Mind in Coronation Street

By Roy

Christmas in Coronation Street is never just about turkey and crackers, and this year was no different. Lisa Swain tried to hold things together with Becky by her side, but it was obvious her heart wasn’t really there. With Carla suddenly out of the picture, the festive mood felt off and by the end of the day, one unexpected comment was enough to leave the whole family shaken.

Christmas Brings Tension Back To The Surface

Lisa spent Christmas Day doing her best to play happy families with Becky, but anyone watching could tell she was distracted. Even though she and Carla had split again, Carla was clearly still on her mind, and that made everything awkward. Things had actually been going well for Lisa and Carla earlier this year. That all changed when Becky, who everyone thought was dead, suddenly turned up alive.

CS/ Lisa is shocked to the core

Her return completely blew Lisa and Carla apart, and Becky made it very clear she wanted her family back; Lisa and Betsy included. Becky didn’t just ease her way back in either. She pushed, interfered, and made life difficult for Carla at every turn. Carla tried to cope for a while, but eventually she’d had enough and ended things with Lisa, even though she still loved her.

Carla’s “Holiday” Raises Red Flags

After briefly reconsidering the breakup, Lisa decided it was better to walk away for good. Carla then told her she was heading off to Lanzarote for a solo break, which Lisa believed was her way of escaping the mess. But that story didn’t quite add up. Roy later messaged Lisa to say Carla had never checked into her hotel. Becky quickly stepped in, insisting everything was fine, before rushing off to sort things out behind the scenes.

What Lisa didn’t know was the truth. Carla wasn’t on holiday at all; she was locked in a flat nearby after Becky kidnapped her. Becky was determined to remove Carla from the equation completely if that’s what it took to win back her family. Things got even more unsettling when Becky tried to force Carla to record a voice note for Lisa. Carla refused and warned her that she wouldn’t get away with this. When Betsy called, Becky threatened Carla with a knife, forcing her to lie and say she’d checked into another hotel called Rhubarb Hill.

Later, Becky returned home to find Roy and Evelyn there, with Betsy excitedly explaining she’d spoken to Carla. That news lifted Lisa’s mood straight away, but Evelyn wasn’t convinced it was good news at all. Evelyn gently but firmly pointed out that Carla answering Betsy’s call actually meant she was avoiding Lisa. When Lisa asked what she was getting at, Evelyn dropped a brutal truth. She suggested Carla might simply not be cut out to be with a woman. Meanwhile, Carla is clearly fighting back in any way she can. She’s convinced Becky won’t be able to keep this secret forever.
