Lou Michaelis has been put through the wringer in recent times, but her latest action on the cobbles could result in her getting into deep trouble—particularly with Maria Connor. Next week on Coronation Street, just as things appear to be settling down following Mick‘s arrest, Lou causes a new wave of trouble. And this time, it has nothing to do with Maria’s old flame Mick but has everything to do with Maria‘s husband, Gary.
Trouble Follows Lou Home
Having finally broken free of the violent marriage, Lou tries to rebuild her life. She‘s dumped Mick and left her daughters Shanice and Joanie in the care of the Metcalfes on a temporary basis, but once Mick is safely behind bars, she returns to Weatherfield with visions of a fresh start.
Things do not go according to plan, though. Maria immediately dismisses her from the salon, depriving Lou of her income and dispatching her to The Rovers for a drink and a sulk.
But that drink becomes something different when she collides with Gary.
Lou apologizes for Mick‘s vicious attack on him and confesses she‘d been on the receiving end of the same thing for years. Gary, being the gentleman, listens attentively and even offers to treat her to a drink.
Coronation Street: Maria Walks In Just in Time
On cue, Maria enters the pub and spots Lou laughing and drinking a pint with her husband. And trust us, she‘s not impressed. She shoots Lou a glass-cutting glare. And if it were possible to kill someone with a look, Lou would have been dead and buried.
Gary springs into action to smooth things over, but it is obvious tensions are simmering. Maria isn‘t going to let her defenses down again. And Gary finds himself stuck between a traumatised survivor and a very displeased wife.
With Maria on high alert and Lou not exactly making herself popular around Weatherfield, things could turn ugly fast. One wrong move, and this could turn into a full-blown street war. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest drama on Coronation Street. It’s only just getting started.
