Tensions have been simmering for weeks between Mick Michaelis and those around him in Coronation Street. But next week, things take a disturbing turn behind closed doors. As suspicions grow and accusations fly, one character begins to realise she may no longer be safe in her own home. And with Mick spiralling fast, the street braces itself for the fallout.
Trouble Brewing Between Mick and Kit
Audiences have watched Mick rapidly develop a reputation on the cobbles as a man not to be trifled with. His temper has flared repeatedly, from unnerving stand-offs to outright violence. Now, an argument with Kit Green tips him over the edge. When Kit makes a cutting comment that suggests Lou may not be as devoted as Mick thinks, it shakes him to his foundations.
Mick is not a man to dawdle. He storms back home, incensed, and has it out with Lou, leaving her shaken by his temper outburst.
What goes on behind that door remains unknown immediately, but Lou later finds himself sporting an injury—one that gives cause for concern among those around him.
Gemma Winter and Sean Tully both attempt to call in on Lou but are unable to reach her. Red flags begin to fly, particularly for Sean, who has a traumatic past with Mick. Expecting the worst, he goes down to the police station to revise his earlier statement regarding being beaten by Mick last month in the hope that coming clean about everything will save Lou.
Coronation Street: A Hidden Wound and a Desperate Escape
Meanwhile, Lou attempts to maintain appearances. She puts her hands over her head and attempts to call out to Mick, urging him to come home and discuss things. Instead of coming home, however, Mick takes flight in his van, flooded with rage and blaming Kit for it all. When Kit attempts to calm him down on the phone, Mick interrupts him and let’s him know he’s not in the mood to hear what he has to say.
Realizing how dangerous it has become, Lou informs her daughters, Joanie and Shanice, that they must vacate the premises for a little while.
She calls for a cab to escort them out—but when Tim Metcalfe shows up to drive them, he immediately notices the gash on her head. Worried, Tim insists on taking Lou into A&E before she can travel anywhere.
At the hospital, a nurse attempts to pry the truth out gently, suspecting that Lou’s wounds are not an accident. But Lou will not talk and makes a run out of the hospital. She leaves Tim to mind the girls—and everybody wondering what she is so frightened of.
With Lou missing and Mick growing more erratic by the minute, her safety is now a serious concern. Viewers already know Mick has threatened Kit and blamed him for ruining his life. But now, even Lou may not be safe from his wrath. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for Coronation Street updates and spoilers.
