Samia Longchambon Reflects On Her Past

Samia, who has been part of Coronation Street for over two decades, has often spoken about how grateful she is for the stability and joy her career has brought her. But her latest Instagram post revealed a much more vulnerable side. Taking part in the trending “big me with little me” challenge, the actress shared an AI-generated image of her present-day self lovingly holding her childhood self.

While she has never gone into detail publicly before, she confessed that growing up had its difficulties, ones that left a lasting mark on her adult life. She explained that while her childhood wasn’t entirely traumatic and had its moments of joy and laughter, it shaped her deeply. Despite everything, she wouldn’t change a thing because it made her appreciate the good times even more.

Samia’s Heartfelt Message To Her Younger Self

The post didn’t end there. In a moving message, Samia said she wished she could hug her younger self and reassure her that things would turn out better than she could have imagined. Fans were equally touched, with many describing the post as “so lovely and so emotional,” while others said it made them pause and reflect on their own lives.

Emmerdale’s Michelle Hardwick praised her as a beautiful person inside and out, while former Hollyoaks star Gemma Merna called her words “lovely.” Coronation Street co-star Andrew Whyment also showed his support with a string of heart emojis. While Samia’s personal reflections offered a glimpse into her real life, her on-screen counterpart Maria Connor has also been at the center of some emotional storylines recently.

This year, Maria worked alongside her husband, Gary Windass, to take on homophobic antagonist Noah, after learning about the harm he’d caused to Theo Silverton through cruel “conversion therapy” tactics. In typical soap fashion, things escalated quickly. Gary wanted to teach Noah a harsh lesson after discovering the extent of Theo’s suffering.
