It wouldn’t be Coronation Street without a dramatic garden party spiralling out of control, and that’s exactly what’s on the menu as tensions bubble between Maria and Lou. What begins as a slightly awkward barbecue quickly turns into a police matter, and no one’s walking away unaffected. But just when you think you know who’s to blame, a twist throws everything into question
Lou Crashes the Party in Coronation Street
It all begins when Lou Michaelis does what Lou does best; invites herself where she’s not invited. Paying no heed to all the warnings to keep away, she appears on the Platts’ family barbecue, uninvited.
As soon as she’s inside, Lou discovers a tempting wad of cash hiding in Shona’s bag. While all the others are celebrating outside, Lou is alone in the house… and apparently, considering stealing that money.
But before she can make up her mind, Maria comes in and tells her to empty her pockets.
And then, bam! A big bang and the Platts come running inside to discover Lou lying on the floor amid broken furniture, and Maria looming over her. Before long, the next thing we know is that the police are at the Rovers, arresting Maria for assault in front of half of Weatherfield. What a party to remember!
The Blame Game Begins
Next week, Maria’s out on bail, but she’s seething, and absolutely sure Lou tipped off the police. Who else would want to have her in handcuffs? But Lou swears there’s nothing to it, that she didn’t go anywhere near the police and doesn’t want any part of taking this brawl into a courtroom.
Later, Lou finds Gary Windass for a word in private. She says she prefers to keep things peaceful and promises him she’s not looking for trouble. To his surprise, Gary thanks her and invites her for a drink. That friendly beer may be bad news, however, if Maria finds out about it.
As for Lou’s motives, a Coronation Street source discloses that Lou is telling the truth that she didn’t report Maria. Considering the strained history between the Michaelis family and the police, to call them would be the last resort.”
Maria’s determined to get to the bottom of it, and she’s not so sure that Lou is the actual snake in the grass. Is there someone else out to get her? And to make things worse, Gary’s friendly little pint with Lou isn’t going down well with Maria. Is her husband becoming too chummy with her rival? Or is Lou playing a much bigger game?
Whatever’s brewing, Maria’s determined to get to the bottom of who’s really pulling the strings, and they’d better be prepared when she does. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest Coronation Street news, twists, and spoilers from the cobbles!
