Gary’s been gone for a while now in Coronation Street, and Maria’s trying to keep it together. Now that Liam’s birthday is coming up and there’s still no real word from him, things are starting to feel strange. Then, just when she finally hears from him, something feels off. By the end of Friday’s episode, it’s clear that something more is going on than just a quiet trip.
Gary’s Text Raised Eyebrows
Here’s what we know. Gary went off to be with his mom, or at least that’s what everyone thought, after getting caught up in Lou Michaelis’s mess. Remember, Lou cracked his phone password and blackmailed him with fake evidence.
Back home, Maria and Liam were really worried. They hadn’t heard from Gary for days. Then out of nowhere, Maria receives a text. Gary says he’s staying with a friend and will be back soon.
But if you watched Friday’s episode, you’ll know something felt off. The final scene showed Gary lying unconscious in a hospital bed. Not exactly what you’d expect from someone who’s supposed to be crashing at a friend’s.
At the same time, Nina was having a breakdown. She told Roy she’d taken LSD at the summer party and was scared she might have hurt someone. Her words were heartbreaking. She said she was “sure” she hurt someone and needed to find out who. Most viewers don’t think Nina has anything to do with Gary’s injuries.
Maria Goes to the Police in Coronation Street
With Gary still missing and Liam’s birthday overshadowed, Maria had enough. She reported him missing to Officer Kit Green. Kit tried to reassure her, saying Gary wasn’t involved in anything serious.
But that’s when things got weirder. Maria found out there was a man in the hospital in a coma, and someone had signed in as his next of kin using a completely different name.
Someone was pretending to be family. It didn’t take long for everyone, including Maria, to realize that the man in the hospital was Gary. Now we’re dealing with a major attack. Whoever hurt Gary didn’t just leave him for dead. They tried to hide his identity and cover their tracks. It’s clear that someone went to great lengths to make sure no one could figure out what happened. And the question is, who would do that?
Soap Fans Think They Know Who’s Behind It
Coronation Street fans have been diving deep into their theories, and honestly, some sound pretty believable. Most people think Lou is behind it. After all, she had Gary’s phone password, so she could have sent that text to Maria pretending to be him. One viewer posted, “There’s no way Nina or Summer did that. It’s got to be Lou, she’s the only one who had access to Gary’s phone.”
Another theory suggests that Lou went to visit her husband Mick in prison and told him lies about Gary. Next, Mick sends someone to deal with Gary, and Lou covers it up by texting Maria that Gary is fine. One fan even said they wouldn’t be surprised if Lou asks Maria for money next, especially if Gary wakes up and tells everyone what happened.
If these theories are accurate, then Lou could be in deep trouble. Pretending to be Gary’s next of kin, sending fake messages, and possibly getting someone to attack him, that’s way too much. Gary’s still in a coma, but when he wakes up (fingers crossed), he may be able to name who hurt him. And if Lou had anything to do with it, it’s only a matter of time before everything falls apart. Maria and Liam deserve answers, and so do we! Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for the next twist because something tells us this story is just getting started.
