Prison life isn‘t panning out for Mick Michaelis, and it appears that karma may finally be knocking on his cell door. Next week on Coronation Street, Weatherfield bad boy is left bruised and battered in a prison plot twist that may change everything. But like always, there‘s more happening in the background than anyone‘s admitting.
Mick Gets His Due—Or Does He?
Following months of trouble in Weatherfield, Mick‘s downfall was only a matter of time. From threatening neighbours to attacking Lou and Craig in a fit of rage, his tyranny spiralled out of control. When the police finally apprehended him, he ended up in remand, waiting to face his judgment.
Kit Green, who‘d been skating on thin ice for weeks, now seems to have washed his hands of his former friend.
In future scenes, Kit tells girlfriend Sarah Barlow that Mick‘s plea hearing is taking place on the day, and he seems fairly confident about the result.
So why the assurance? Sarah feels that something’s not right, particularly given Kit‘s shady past with Mick. That doubt doesn‘t look so unreasonable once audiences are aware of what‘s actually happening behind bars.
A Brutal Beating—and a Blame Game
In a dramatic twist, Mick finds himself lying on the floor of his prison cell having been the victim of a brutal attack. When Lou comes to seehim, she‘s shocked at his injuries. Mick has no hesitation, his finger points straight at Kit, accusing the detective of orchestrating the whole thing via shady contacts.
Mick argues Kit issued a shocking threat: plead guilty, or next time it‘ll be worse. Yet with all the bruises and threats, Mick plays hardball and pleads not guilty, keeping the legal process ongoing. Lou passes this along later to their son Brody, who is in Mick‘s corner and is sure his father is innocent. What Lou omits, however, is that Mick‘s choice could cost him a very expensive one.
