There’s always someone causing trouble on Coronation Street, and this time it’s Mick Michaelis. While he’s been playing it cool and making new friends, he could be walking straight into trouble, and it’s not the kind he’s prepared for. Something major is brewing in the background, and it all starts when a vulnerable local goes missing.
Mick Cosies Up with Gary in Coronation Street
Mick has become very chummy in Gary Windass’s sphere of influence of late. He regards Gary as a good business-savvy family man who owns a second-hand store and is building up something new. But what Mick does not know is that Gary is not any ordinary neighbour. He is the same man who once murdered Rick Neelan and was responsible for the Underworld collapse.
For the time being, Mick has no idea what Gary’s capable of. He’s been walking around, picking fights and seeking trouble wherever he goes.
Last week, he encouraged Gary to purchase the builder’s yard, and the two began spending more time together. He even succeeded in getting on Maria’s good side for a brief moment.
When Liam got hassled at the precinct, Mick intervened and sorted it out, gaining himself a place at the table for drinks at the Bistro with Maria, Gary, and Liam. But while Gary and Maria turned away, Mick slipped Liam a shot of vodka and said he was “one of the lads” now.
A Missing Local and a Late-Night Clash
Later in the series, events turn sinister when Theo vanishes from home. Danielle informs Todd of the news, and the alarm quickly sets in. Out on the street, Theo stumbles around, well and truly drunk and unsteady, right into Mick’s path.
Rather than assisting, Mick starts a fight. It becomes intense immediately, and Mick pushes Theo up against a wall. Fortunately, Ronnie intervenes before matters get out of hand. He drags Mick off of Theo and shows him the door.
Soon after that, police calls in Mick for suspicion of assault. He’s brought in to be questioned and Lisa requests that Kit Green interview him. However, Kit becomes agitated when he hears Mick’s name.
In the interview, Kit rushes through questions and lets Mick off the hook. Mick leaves laughing. He later traps Kit and reminds him they have to talk, saying there is more going on between the two of them than anybody realizes.
A ‘Joke’ at the Yard Crosses a Line
Later in the week, Mick continues to wreak havoc, this time at the builder’s yard. With Liam and Jake out on work experience, things ought to have gone smoothly. But Mick has different plans.
He pulls a so-called prank on Liam by showering him with cement. Liam pretends not to mind, trying to present himself as unmoved and willing to get in with the lads. But it’s evident Mick is bullying him.
An insider revealed that Liam believes playing along with the joke makes him “one of the lads.” But the prank goes too far, and if Gary gets wind of what’s been happening, Mick might have a bigger problem on his hands.
Mick has been gaming from the moment he got there, but his recent actions are burying him. He doesn’t know the complete backstory of Gary. But if he continues to mess with Liam, he may learn the hard way. Kit’s nervous behaviour shows there’s more to their past. Add in Mick’s reckless behaviour and growing list of enemies, and it’s no wonder fans are wondering how his story will end.
Mick’s exit is coming, and if this week is any hint, it might not be on his terms. Stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for all the latest Coronation Street spoilers, scoops, and story twists from your favourite soap.
