What begins as harmless banter takes a disturbing turn next week in Coronation Street, as one resident’s idea of fun spirals into something far more dangerous. While it may have started with a few laughs, things quickly escalate—and one teen finds himself at the centre of a very frightening moment.
Work Experience Turns Ugly
Mick Michaelis recently joined the builder’s yard following an offer of work from Gary Windass—a choice that was already raising eyebrows, especially for Maria. While Mick initially appeared to be helpful, intervening to protect Liam Connor when he was being mugged over a phone, his actions begin to turn in a more sinister direction.
When Liam and Jake join work experience on the yard, Mick pours cement over Liam as part of a childish stunt. Liam goes along with it, set on becoming part of the group and seeming tough.
But when he sees an opportunity for revenge against Mick later, he puts washing powder in his tea.
When Mick spits out the drink in horror, Liam erupts into laughter, pleased with his own comeback. Unfortunately, Mick doesn’t share his sense of humor. What began as harmless quickly becomes something far more sinister.
Liam Pays the Price in Coronation Street
Deciding to get back at Liam, Mick locks the teenager in the builder’s yard tool shed. Liam, scared and isolated, cries out for help—but no one can hear him.
The following day, Gary instructs Liam to go and get bacon sandwiches but becomes suspicious when he doesn’t come back.
He and Maria later discover Liam moping at Roy’s Rolls, where he finally confides in them about the awful encounter. Maria responds with shock after learning that Mick consciously trapped Liam.
Gary doesn’t dawdle. He goes back to the yard and discovers Mick searching around the shed. With no warning, Gary locks him up—giving a taste of his own medicine. He then tells Mick he is fired, causing even more anger.
Violence Breaks Out—and Kit Intervenes
Mick doesn’t accept the sacking lightly. Afterwards, he pins Gary up against it and hits him to the ground in a rage. Gary staggers to his feet, picking up an empty bottle as tempers boil over.
Just as all is about to get out of control, Kit Green shows up and steps in. He tells Gary to leave the bottle behind and go, but whether or not Gary is listening remains to be seen.
