New Year’s Day starts like any other day for Shona Platt. Christmas is over, the house needs tidying, and life needs to move on. But while Shona tries to pack away the decorations at home, something suddenly goes wrong, and it sends David in full-on panic mode.
Shona And David’s Pregnancy Has Been Full Of Worry
Shona and David have already been through a lot in recent weeks. The couple are expecting a baby, but their happiness was shattered after doctors discovered that their unborn child has a tumour. That devastating news changed everything for them.
Shona later learned that carrying the pregnancy to full term would mean undergoing complicated and high-risk surgery, putting both her and the baby at serious risk.
Since then, the worry has been constant. Still, Shona has been trying to stay strong and carry on with everyday life, even as the fear hangs over her. In upcoming scenes on New Year’s Day, Shona begins putting away the Christmas decorations at home.
While doing this, she suddenly feels a worrying twinge. Soon after, things take a more frightening turn as Shona struggles to draw breath. And David refuses to take any chances.
Shona’s Scare Comes As Corriedale Drama Moves Ahead
Shona’s health scare comes at a time when she is also set to appear in the highly anticipated Corriedale crossover. The special event brings together characters from Coronation Street and Emmerdale in one major storyline.
A new Corriedale trailer has shown new characters and teased a big vehicle crash involving multiple people. Shona will appear in the crossover alongside Corrie characters Kit Green, James Bailey, Asha Alahan, Carla Connor, Kevin Webster, and Abi Webster, all heading out from Weatherfield.
From the Dales, Cain Dingle, Sarah Sugden, Charity Dingle, Jacob Gallagher, Robert Sugden, and Joe Tate will also be involved. ITV previously confirmed that Lisa Swain and David Platt would cross paths with Emmerdale’s Aaron Dingle, while Tracy Barlow will also appear alongside Emmerdale’s Liam Cavanagh.
