For a while, everything is going according to plan. Aunty Rani lives far away in India, and they didn’t think she would actually show up. Aunty Rani Arrives in Coronation Street
Next week, Aunty Rani arrives in Weatherfield. Not only is she sharper than they expected, she’s also early. According to a Corrie insider, her arrival “throws a major spanner in Aadi and Bernie’s plan.” She has traveled all the way from India and is determined to see how every penny of her money has been spent. Dev rolls out the red carpet. He clearly wants to impress her and asks Aadi to be his best man, completely unaware of the guilt troubling his son.
Aadi tries to play along, but it’s hard when your secret is hanging by a thread. Bernie, feeling judged from the moment Rani looks at her, decides to fake a posh accent to seem more impressive. But Rani notices everything. The pressure gets on when Rani announces she’s creating a spreadsheet to track all the wedding expenses. At this point, Aadi and Bernie realize they are in serious trouble.
They’ve cut corners everywhere, and now they have someone with a calculator watching them. The idea of coming clean to Dev suddenly seems unavoidable, but they aren’t ready to give up just yet. With Rani settled in and paying close attention to every detail, Aadi and Bernie are scrambling to keep things under control. Bernie’s nerves are through the roof, and Aadi’s guilt keeps increasing.
Dev, on the other hand, is completely unaware for now. But if Rani digs any deeper, that won’t last long. Things are set to get chaotic, and it’s only a matter of time before someone breaks.
