Coronation Street is going to a pretty grim place with Todd Grimshaw having real difficulties coming to terms with his feelings after Billy’s death. Plus, he also goes through another trauma after his encounter with Theo Silverton. Todd’s situation, Summer’s worry and George’s calm support are the main elements in the major storyline coming up. Theo Turns His Focus On Summer And George
Theo has already dragged Todd through months of emotional violence. He used to control him with cruel routines and even manipulated him. Elsewhere, this is the reason why Todd took a long time to trust anyone again. Moreover, Billy noticed the bruises during Debbie’s wedding. And it finally felt like Todd might finally find a way out.
However, everything changed after the Corriedale crash. Billy, Todd and Theo were on the minibus when the pile-up took place. However, Todd managed to get out. But Billy was trapped. Later, Theo saw him hurt, but instead of helping, he walked away, leaving him in the smoke. And that single moment changed the entire story. Elsewhere, now Todd is shocked by losing Billy. And now he has to carry the weight of everything he went through with Theo. Even Billy isnt there to save him anymore.
The soap’s executive producer, Kate Brooks, explained that Theo feels guilty. However, he twists his guilt into a reason so that he can tighten his hold on Todd. Elsewhere now, Summer and George will become the next targets on his list. Theo thinks that they bring comfort to Todd. Summer has always seen Todd as a steady figure in her life. It’s almost like a parent and a friend at the same time.
Elsewhere, for George, Todd is like a family member. And so Theo has eyes on them next. In the upcoming episodes, Theo will act as a supportive partner in front of them. He wants them not to question his intentions. However, he is jealous that Todd leans on them.
Coronation Street Pushes A Raw Look At Domestic Abuse
This time, the soap is using a different way to show Todd’s suffering. The special Behind Closed Doors episode used bodycam footage and cameras in the flat. Kate Brooks said the team wanted to show the truth of this kind of abuse.
