Coronation Street has been slipping in a few surprises lately, and one of them came from a scene that quietly pulled in a bit of history. The iconic Kabin of Weatherfield has been back on screen, and this week it has set the stage for a small update about a face fans haven’t seen in years. For those who’ve followed the show for a long time, this character will surely remind you of some very tangled family drama.

The Kabin Returns Once More

Last week, the ITV soap took viewers back inside the Kabin for the first time since January 2024. Instead of the usual outside shot, we saw Jenny Connor inside the shop asking George Shuttleworth to fix a leak. He ended up soaked, and Jenny joked he looked like Colin Firth’s Mr Darcy.

That wasn’t the end of Kabin’s return though. In the latest episode, the shop appeared again, but this time it was the backdrop for a conversation that brought up a character who has been away from Weatherfield for years.

Coronation Street: Ryan Shares An Update On Ali Neeson

While browsing for an engagement card, Ryan Connor told Jenny and Rita Tanner that it was for Ali Neeson. He explained that Ali had proposed and his partner had accepted. He also added that the news had taken a few people by surprise.

CS/ Will Ali come back?

Ali first arrived on the cobbles in December 2007 with Nick and Wendy Neeson. It later came out that Ali and Ryan had been swapped at birth. When the truth came out, Nick and Wendy hired a private detective who discovered that Dean Powell and Michelle Connor had been raising the real Ryan all along.

From the sound of Ryan’s update, that fresh start has gone well. Ali is now engaged and seemingly settled into life away from Weatherfield. Whether this is just a passing mention or a sign of something more, it has not gone unnoticed by fans.
