The Rovers Return has stood at the heart of Coronation Street for decades, but the winds of change are sweeping through Weatherfield once again. After months of speculation about who would take over the famous watering hole, the pub has finally been sold, and its new owners promise to change things up in ways the Street hasn’t seen in years. But who are they, and what will their arrival mean for the future of the cobbles?
Jenny’s Departure Marks the End of an Era
Jenny Connor’s journey as the Rovers’ landlady ended on a bittersweet note. Once adored as the Queen of the Rovers, Jenny lost her title after Carla Connor made the difficult decision to sell the pub in order to reclaim the money Jenny had taken from her. After stepping down, Jenny took a job at the Kabin beside her former stepmum, Rita Tanner, but she never truly settled.

Surrounded by familiar faces yet stripped of her purpose, she confessed to George Shuttleworth that she didn’t like who she had become. When a service order for a woman her own age came through the funeral parlour, it forced Jenny to reflect deeply on her life and her future. Despite George urging her to start fresh, Jenny initially chose to stay behind for Rita. But Rita and George grew close, and Rita surprised Jenny with a one-way ticket to Tenerife.
Carla Sells the Rovers in Coronation Street
Next week, Carla Connor delivers the long-awaited news that the Rovers Return has finally been sold. Speaking to her fiancée DS Lisa Swain, Carla reveals that the new owner is a man named Ben. Ben Driscoll, played by Aaron McCusker, is set to become the new landlord.

But he won’t be alone behind the bar, joining him is his partner and returning fan favourite Eva Price, portrayed by Catherine Tyldesley. The couple will be moving in with Ben’s mother, Maggie, his two sons, and Eva’s daughter, Suzie.
Corrie boss Kate Brooks shared her excitement about the big shake-up. She said the team was “beyond thrilled” to have Eva back as the Rovers’ new landlady. But this time with her lively blended family in tow. She teased that the Driscolls “do not arrive quietly,” hinting at “big drama, explosive secrets, and raucous knees-ups galore.” Brooks added that having Catherine, Aaron, and Pauline lead this new chapter was “absolutely wonderful.” She even promised fans an “exciting and eventful ride ahead.”

Now that the sale is complete, the Rovers Return is ready to open its doors under new management. And fans can expect a storm of emotion, laughter, and drama as the Driscoll-Price clan settle in.
