It looks like The Duchess of York, Sarah Ferguson, is a fan of Coronation Street. She recently visited the sets of the ITV soap, and that’s where she joked about making a cameo appearance on the drama. The Duchess pulled a pint at The Rovers Return Inn and giggled that she was in half a mind to “bamboozle” producers to give her a part on the soap.
Sarah Ferguson was out on a visit to tor the Prevent Breast Cancer charity headquarters in Wythenshawe, Manchester. After that, she joined actress Sally Dynevo for a Coronation Street set tour. Interestingly, Sarah has previously made a cameo appearance on the comedy series Friends. So, she is certainly no stranger to sets and cameos.
Yet, The Duchess claimed that it was a huge moment to walk down the iconic cobble street. Se even tried a version of a northern accent, when she said “What will you have, lass?” to Ms Dynevor, who plays Sally Metcalfe. Sarah, who also happens to be Prince Andrew’s ex-wife had even appeared on ITV’s Loose Women.
Interestingly, she isn’t the only royal to visit the Corrie set. While standing behind the Rover counter, The Duchess recalled the time when late Queen Elizabeth II visited the set in 2021. “We ought to drink a pint to my wonderful mother-in-law. She really loved her time here,” she pointed.

Sarah became an advocate for regular medical checks after she received a breast cancer diagnosis last year and was later diagnosed with skin cancer. “What I noticed today was I had a few private conversations with patients and they couldn’t get over that I was here having had a mastectomy, and that I said, ‘I’ve had a mastectomy. Here I am” the Duchess stated about her visit to the Nightingale Centre in Wythenshawe, Manchester.
We are certain that having her there must have given a boost to the patients’ spirits. We wish a speedy recovery to anyone and everyone who is struggling to beat cancer at this moment.
