Shona Wants To Fix Things, But Jodie Has Some Other Plans
Shona is still working out a way to have a solid footing with Jodie Ramsey. The mysterious returnee came back during Corridale. She had escaped from the back of Graham Foster’s van. Elsewhere, even baby Harper had arrived early. So the Platts needed any help they could get.
Later, David told Jodie that she could stay as long as she wanted. And Sona saw this as an opportunity to rebuild something. But if any viewer is thinking that they will settle their issues will see something else. Jodie didn’t come with good intentions. She has been carrying old anger for years. Corrie has already shown us some pieces of their childhood. They had a home ruled by a controlling father and a mother who never stepped in.
Shona had already escaped young. She wanted something better, but Jodie stayed behind. She saw Shona as someone to look up to. And that’s why she even got a matching tattoo. Now, Jodie sees Shona’s new life where she has a house, her husband and a family. However, she was left to fight alone as a teen. She was treated badly by her father and was locked inside her room with no one to help.
Now, Shona wanted to visit their father. But Jodie became tense. She calls Bernard, one of their dad’s old friends. Shona gets suspicious, so she follows her to a psychiatric hospital. She soon realises that their father is a patient. Then Jodie breaks down, explaining that she carried everything after their mother walked out. And Shona consoles, saying she’s part of the family again. However, Jodie’s expressions show she has something else on her mind.
What Jodie Really Feels In Coronation Street
Olivia Frances Brown says that her character feels that Jodie holds “nothing but deep resentment.” She believed Shona walked off and didnt her along to the life she promised. And now, when she sees her settled, that anger blows.
