After the recent cast cut due to the soap’s cash crisis, many actors have lined up for exits. Now, Shelly King, who plays the role of Yasmeen Metcalfe, has also joined the list after 11 years on the show. According to the spoilers, the actor has already finished filming her final scenes, which will air in March. But we still have no clue about her exit plot.
While there are speculations about her exit plot—another group of soap fans are worried that her restaurant, Speed Daal, will close up after her exit. Yasmeen started working at the restaurant as a cook in 2019 and eventually married Geoff Metcalfe, the owner. But in 2020, she got rid of her abusive husband and stabbed him to death. Fortunately, she found love again with Chef Stu Carpenter—but last year, they called it quits. Presently, Yasmeen lives with her granddaughter, Alya, at No. 6.
Though her granddaughter Alya is the co-owner of the restaurant, she is clearly busy with her law career. So, after Yasmeen exits who will take care of the restaurant? There have been many fan speculations that maybe the soap will bring in another family to take over the restaurant. But with the ongoing cash crisis, this seems like a long-shot now. Other fans speculated about Dev taking over the restaurant—as there’s a clear scope of him running it with Aadi.
There’s still no confirmation from the show bosses of what will happen to Speed Daal after Yasmeen’s exit. However, we are rooting for it to stay.
