Next week, teen pregnancy drama makes a shocking return. Remember when Sarah Platt became the soap’s youngest mother at just 12? That explosive storyline still echoes today as Coronation Street spoilers tease that history might repeat itself with Hope Stape. Meanwhile, the Corrie fandom is buzzing with speculation. Is Hope about to follow in Sarah’s footsteps? Let us find out!
Corrie To Revisit A Controversial Plotline?
It looks like Corrie is going to repeat a bold storyline in the coming week. Years ago, Tina O’Brien’s Sarah Platt stunned everyone by becoming the youngest mother on the show at just 12. This came after a brief romance with her friend Neil Fearns and the fact that she had no idea about the pregnancy until five months.
Back in 1999, young Sarah gave birth to baby Bethany. And guess what? Now, the Liverpool Echo reveals Fiz Brown’s daughter, Hope Stape, drops a huge baby bombshell on her unsuspecting family. As the week begins, Hope dumps Sam Blkeman for Jack Webster.
Her mother, Fiz, is stunned to see Hope hanging out with Jack. Then, Hope rushes to Dr. Gadass, hoping to score some birth control pills. However, the doctor gives her condoms instead and suggests she talk things over with her family. This has prompted wild speculations online.
Fans took to the soap’s Facebook fan page, with one speculator suggesting that Hope must be pregnant. Another pointed out that, given her character’s history, it wasn’t surprising and predicted that Sam would end up being the father. A third expressed, “Not another teen pregnancy. Think Corrie needs new writers!”
Another fan criticised the plot, questioning how Hope could be only 13 and suggesting that the storyline had been overused. Finally, someone else voiced their exasperation, stating, “Enough is enough.”
But honestly, the show has overdone the plot. Could this be something beyond our wildest imagination? To find out, stay tuned to Soap Opera Daily for more Coronation Street spoilers! What do you think? Are you also tired of the repetitive teenage pregnancy? Share your opinions below!
They did it with Faye who had a child also a Daughter and she ended up leaving when the Father and their Daughter came back and he got a transfer down South and Faye left Craig and ended up going with them both and leaving the Street
Yes Corrie my guy have decided be this type of storyline before but these things still happen in everyday life ,I will say I think now it’s not prevelant as it was in the 70s ,so if running it again can stop another young girl or even woman then its worth the trying it another time
